Job Summary:
The Business Development Manager is responsible for
developing the strategy, processes and tools to drive effective trade pricing
on assigned Butterball retail product lines to maximize margins. This position is responsible for ensuring
that the P&L analysis is completed to monitor the Return on Sales for all
new business. The Business Development Manager
drives continuous improvement in the retail marketing strategy and provides
solutions to pricing, promotion and revenue management on assigned product
lines. It communicates and assists the
Sales force on Category Management and manages the sales forecast process to
facilitate production schedules. This
position is also responsible for reviewing financial information for accuracy
and managing the inventory process to reduce distressed sales.

Responsibilities:
Attend outside Sales Calls with Sales Managers to assist in pricing and
interpretation of data analysis.
Present market data and analysis at quarterly sales meetings to ensure
all Sales Managers are informed with Butterball Retail performance,
opportunities and threats in the marketplace.
Assist in Annual Financial and Marketing Planning by providing data
analysis.
Knowledge, Skill, and
Abilities:
This position requires strong analytical skills. The incumbent must be able to support a sales
team through analyzing results and market data in order to make decisions
regarding customer accounts.
A strong understanding of the turkey business, product assortment
knowledge and category consumer preferences is necessary in the interpreting
and analysis of syndicated data.
Education and Experience:
This position requires a college degree or an equivalent amount of
experience
The incumbent should have at least 3 years experience in a Trade
Marketing, Business Development or Financial Analyst role.

POSITION SUMMARY: Responsible for the growth of domestic industrial commodity products. Position is responsible to strategically plan for annual growth in the sector as well as have the confidence of his/her peers to communicate and work together as a team. Commodity Manager executes commodity plan for mostly white meat domestic business to achieve volume and profit.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following; (Other duties may be assigned.):
- Plan, develop, and assist in the launch of all domestic commodity products.
- Coordinates promotions of products and or services performed to help develop new markets, increase share of market, and obtain competitive position in industry.
- Confers with administrative personnel and reviews activity, agristat data, operating, and sales reports to determine changes in commodity strategies.
- Maintains commitment to the company vision and spirit of the organization.
- Reviews activity reports and financial statements to determine progress and status in obtaining objectives. Advises VP of Industrial Sales of objectives and strategies in accordance with current conditions.
- Works with the sales team to execute the Commodity sales and marketing plan.
- Works with plant and supply planning to execute the thawing of meat to maximize the return on commodity meat.
- Identification of marketing potential through analysis of target customers.
- Responsible for developing new campaigns and establishing key points of difference from the competition.
- Manages brokers with large export meat processors business. Assist in any logistical issues to maintain good customer relations.
- Responsible for managing the development of new products from inception through roll out.
- Maintain accurate and up to date files on all customers and brokers.
- Submit all reports (expenses, weekly updates and any requested by VP of Industrial Sales.
- Responsible for doing comprehensive business reviews.
- Must have computer skills in forecasting sales and developing sales plans.
- Must be able to manage over 120 million in sales dollars and 100 million pounds in sales
QUALIFICATIONS: To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required.
EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE: Bachelors degree (B.A.) from four-year college or university and 5 years experience or 10 or more years related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience. The candidate must have 3-5 years of commodity sales. Experience in the Turkey Industry preferred. Experience with large volume of sales and preference given to experience with large meat processors in the Poultry Industry.
LANGUAGE SKILLS: Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations. Commodity Manager must have the ability to write reports, business correspondence, and procedural manuals. They must have the ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. Bilingual Spanish skills would be a plus.
MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, and percentages. Candidate must have the ability to work with mathematical concepts such as profitability and statistical inference. Candidate must have the ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations.
REASONING ABILITY: Candidate must have the ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Must have the ability to define problems, collects data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
